About Us
Dr. Jeff Reed, Ph.D. founded TJ's Travel Club for Seniors in 1984. The original travel club was for the widows and widowers of his Gerontology practice and those of his collegues. Jeff found that counseling wasn't enough, that his clients needed to go out and have fun again. In time, the concept expanded so that anyone over 50 could have a warm venue for having fun, making new friends, and creating memorable life experiences.
In all, Jeff has traveled more than five million miles, including a million miles in Arizona. HIs love of Arizona in particular and travel in general are infectuous. HIs understanding and respect for members of the travel club has created a truly unique environment for learning, exploring, and just having fun. This enthusiasm and passion for the mission of the club inspires many members to volunteer and to refer their own friends and family to the travel club.
Today, the club has chapters throughout Arizona including the Greater Phoenix Area, the East Valley, the Northwest Valley (Sun Cities), Wickenburg and Prescott.
